Chinese New Year is just around the corner and the decorations are already up in KL Wellness City where we had the seminar. Ps Alvin reiterated that there are many similarities between us Chinese, and the Jews.

THE JEWS & THE CHINESE

Hanging a red cloth on the main door during Chinese New Year, house warmings, or weddings to usher in good fortune, prosperity, and happiness while warding off evil spirits is Jewish. It is akin to marking the doors  with the blood of a sacrificed lamb during Passover. The red door serves as a powerful symbol of redemption, protection, and faithfulness in both Jewish and Christian traditions.

The blood on the doorposts will be a sign to mark the houses in which you live. When I see the blood, I will pass over you and will not harm you when I punish the Egyptians (Exodus 12:13). 

My dad once said “I don’t need Jesus as I have Confucius”. A familiar rebuff from our elders is that Christianity is a western religion. This could not be further from the truth. 

We can trace ancient Jewish culture in our Chinese language. We can reconstruct the first few passages from the Genesis in the Bible using Chinese characters.  For instance, "temptation" or "covet" (婪) combines two trees (林) with a woman (女), representing the forbidden fruit and Eve. 

The character for "creation" (造) can be interpreted as having components for dust/dirt (土), mouth/person (口), life/alive (生), and walking/moving (走), which some associate with the creation of Adam. 

The character for "boat" (船) is composed of characters for "vessel" (舟), "eight" (八), and "mouth/person" (口), which is often cited as a reference to Noah's ark, which carried eight people.

The Chinese have never been antisemitic. With regards to Christians, yes they have arrested Christians and pastors used by external influence to destabilise China or to cause a regime change. Moreover during the Holocaust, China sheltered 50,000 Jews who fled persecution when many countries rejected them. Jewish merchants also settled in Kaifeng, Henan in the 10^th -19^th century where they prospered and were later assimilated with the Han population.

The emperor Taizong of Tang dynasty was a key supporter of the first recorded Christian mission to China. After studying scriptures brought by the Assyrian missionary Alopen in 635, Taizong issued an Edict of Toleration in 638, allowing the faith, known as "The Luminous Religion" (Jingjiao), to be preached.  As a result Xian was a most prosperous and modern city under his rule. Kyoto in Japan was modelled as a replica of old Xian.

CHINA IN THE SCRIPTURES

China is mentioned twice in the Bible. Isaiah 49:12 reads “Surely these shall come from afar; Look! Those from the north and the west, And these from the land of Sinim” Sinim is China. In modern Hebrew, Sin (Hebrew: סין) is the word for China plus the historical timing links it more with China than southern Egypt as some suggest.

Then in Revelations 16:12 the kings of the east refers to China or possibly a China-led alliance from the east.

THREE WISEMEN

“We three kings of Orient are…bearing gifts we traverse afar…” is a famous phrase we sing during Christmas.  The three (3) wisemen who visited Jesus were probably Chinese. Since ancient times the emperor always had a team of astrologers. They believed events on earth are linked to heaven. When the stars changed they knew there was a big event. These wisemen recognised the divinity of Christ and hence brought gifts appropriate for a king. 

Certainly if you had watched ancient Chinese classics like Romance of the Three kingdoms, sages like Zhuge Liang is depicted as being able to read the stars and atmosphere to predict weather changes, such as calling for the southeast wind at the Battle of Red Cliffs.

THE RECENT RISE OF CHINA

China was the world’s largest economy for most of the last two millennia (1st–19th century), contributing roughly 25-30% of global GDP and peaking in 1820. Then came  the 8 nations-alliance invasion of China, opium war and the Japanese invasion. This is coined the century of humiliation - the decline, defeat and political fragmentation of the Qing dynasty and the subsequent Republic of China, which led to demoralizing foreign intervention, annexation and subjugation of China by Western powers, Russia, and Japan.

The western powers have only been at the apex of the world economy for the last two (2) centuries. So China’s return to the apex is no surprise but for sure the western powers will try to contain her rise by all means – the military encirclement of China by the U.S, the trade wars, and the CIA-funded NED (National Endowment for Democracy) riots in Hong Kong, which their stooge Jimmy Lai is now facing life-imprisonment for his role.  

Can we avoid the Thucydides trap, a term popularized by Graham Allison, that describes a dangerous structural tension where an emerging power (China) threatens to displace a ruling power (USA), often resulting in war.

A UNITED CHINA

Qin Shi Huang unified China in 221 BC by conquering the six rival Warring States, ending the chaotic Warring States period and establishing the Qin Dynasty. As the first emperor, he centralized power, standardized currency, weights, measures, and language.  Unity makes China strong, if not China will now be divided into 27 nations like the E.U. Napolean and Hitler tried to unite Europe but failed. The current European Union is a joke and fragmented and serve not the interests of its people but that of the deep state and the corrupt politicians. Ironically the Western powers are trying to divide and conquer Russia and China. 

The West is modelled around capitalism and abhors anything that is different be it socialism or communism. They do not respect other models of governance yet their model is increasingly plutocratic rather than democratic, whereby the wealthiest 1% hold disproportionate power, shaping laws and policies to protect their interests, often at the expense of the majority. 

The western led world “ruled based order” is failing and compliance of weaker powers do not guarantee their safety. Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada in his speech at the World Economic Forum(WEF) in Davos last week said “we knew that the international rule based order was partially false. That the strongest will exempt themselves when convenient. That trade rules enforced asymmetrically”.  It is all falling apart.

GOD IS IN CHARGE OF WORLD AFFAIRS

God sets up ruler and kings, and disposes them as He wills. No matter how much you may not like Trump, God did put him there in the White House for a second term. Yes he did halt the progression of ungodly developments like LBGT etc. 

Communism isn’t perfect. I remember reading the novel as part of my high school textbook “Animal Farm” which is a satirical mockery of communism and its ideals. But God did use Mao Zedong to reunite China, wiping out all the corrupted officials in Kuomintang and the oppressive rich landlords.   

Communism had united the Chinese again; one language that connects the 1.4 billion people. Yes Communism is atheistic. But another way to look at it is that it is fertile spiritual ground. The danger when you stop believing in the Truth is not that you will believe in nothing, but that you will believe in absolutely anything. We all have a spiritual compass and a desire for the Truth.

ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM

China is the elephant in the room. The Great Commission would not be complete without talking about China. Ps Alvin “If we want to impact the world we can’t ignore China”. In these end times there will be a renaissance in China. It is prophesized that by 2030, China may have 30% of its population as Christians and be the most populous Christian nation on earth.  God wants China to prosper and be a sheep nation, then to reach out to the ends of the world through its Belt & Road Initiative. God’s wants China to rule the world. China will rise up and help finance the end time harvest. 

When Martin Jacques published the book “When China Rules The World” I was one of the first to purchase. Prof.Kishore Mahbubani’s book “Has China Won?” is another prophetic confirmation of the impending supremacy of China.

Jerusalem is considered the central focal point of the end times, often described as the place where the "truth" (the kingdom of God, the Messiah, and final judgment) will be revealed. Let us continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

PRAY FOR CHINA

We know the spiritual world controls the physical world. There are four (4) demons that sits at each corner of the earth. In the north there is the prince of Persia. In the south there is the demon queen. Her dislodgement was linked to the Tsunami in 2004. Tsunami is associated with the Pacific and not the Indian Ocean and hence there were no detectors installed then.  

Sitting in Tibet is Beelzebub who controls the spiritual atmosphere of China. Genghis Khan who built an empire with the largest land mass even bigger than the Roman empire, left Tibet alone. Those days the warring nations all pray to their gods, and when they were defeated they changed their gods as Ps Alvin puts it. When Genghis Khan marched to Tibet he recognised he was dealing with a higher level demon, and left Tibet alone. 

The Tibetan monks use tantrism to control the people and sexually repress the women in Tibet. When the communist liberated Tibet, there found over a million skulls in the Potala Palace in Lhasa. 

Now there are lamas all over the China who use black magic to (1) control the rich (2) control women, including famous Chinese celebrities and tycoons. The previously exiled 14th Dalai Lama had so much influenced around the globe albeit paid by the CIA to destabilise China. 

SUPERPOWER

CHINA is the next superpower by God’s design. China will soon be the most populous Christian nation on earth. Pax Romana led to peace and stability and the gospel spreading all over the west. Now it is time for Pax Sinim. Amen! There is no need to go against communism. The problem is trust. They need to know we are a friend, and not to destabilise the country. God Bless China!

The data just came out. Malaysia’s GDP rose 4.9% in 2025 and the forecast is lower for 2026 as the full impact of Trumps’ tariffs on the global economy hits. Our government has done a decent job, but we remain vulnerable to external shocks. Meanwhile Trump threatens more tariffs on countries prepared to defend Greenland from a U.S invasion.  

The Ringgit has strengthened against the US$ and the Singaporean dollar. Will this trend continue? I remember vividly when George Soros attacked Asia and caused the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997. The KLSE fell 70% and the Ringgit fell from 2.42 to the U.S dollar to an all-time low of 4.88 to the U.S dollar in January 1998. 

Many neighboring countries like Indonesia and Thailand collapsed financially and needed IMF bailouts. Then Dr M made a critical decision to peg the Ringgit at 3.8 to the U.S dollar and imposed capital controls to stop speculation. It worked and stabilised the Malaysian economy and the following year we were back to economic growth. In 1999, I was working in Singapore and I remembered putting in a FD in Maybank Singapore at 25% interest rate per annum which was dismantled before it even matured. Eventually the Ringgit refloated and went off the peg in 2005 but its performance has been poor till recently as we were hit by the 1MDB scandals and COVID-19.

The Sunway Group was severely impacted by the 1997/98 Asian Financial Crisis, facing a near-collapse due to high foreign-denominated debt (mainly US$) and the sharp depreciation of the Malaysian Ringgit. The crisis forced a massive restructuring of the conglomerate, which was then heavily leveraged at nearly 2 times, and required the disposal of core assets to survive. I remembered reading that GIC came to the rescue. During the height of the crisis, GIC (Singapore's sovereign wealth fund) recognized the underlying value in Sunway's assets. In 1999, GIC invested in the group, acquiring a 48% stake in Sunway Pyramid and a nearly 12% equity interest in Sunway City Bhd.

WHAT IS IN STORE FOR 2026?

How is this year going to unfold? You look at the world for what it is and not what you want it to be or wished it to be, Mark Carney said during his state visit to Beijing this week.

So happy new year again and so much for bombing Venezuela and the illegal capturing of Nicolas Maduro. “We want to have peace all over” Trump’s speech when he was running for President back in Sep 2024. “I am not going to start wars, I am going to stop wars”  You believe him? 

Trump definitely wants that Peace Prize. And absurdly Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado has given her Nobel Peace Prize medal to President Donald Trump during a meeting at the White House this week. 

But we know from scriptures that his second term is a time of war. We are now living in the time of the red horse. The "red horse" in the Bible refers to the second of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in Revelations 6:3-4 symbolising widespread war and bloodshed, as its rider is given a great sword to take peace from the earth, causing people to slay one another.

When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword (Revelations 6:3-4).

 

Trump, the self-proclaimed "the most anti-war" President in history is seeing wars in Somalia, bombed Nigeria, Caracas, Lebanon, Syria and now he is saying he has to stop Iran. The warmongers are creating many false flags to push us into world war 3 and this is most evident in Europe. 

MILITIRIZATION MADNESS

The weapons being created like Oreshnik, Khinzal. etc make the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima look ancient. Blackrock Merz in his new year address warned that the war in Ukraine is not far from Germany’s borders and could reach Germany. He wants to borrow a trillion dollars to build up the military. Germany has been in a recession for two (2) years. Volkswagen and BASF are shutting down plants in Germany and relocating to the U.S and China, yet he wants to build the army from the current 180,000 to 260,000,  and if the new quotas are not met, the government will have the option of mandatory call-ups, where necessary. Europe is run by mad people. But you can't tell insane people they are insane. 

Another clown boy called Starmer in the U.K and a little Napolean called Macron are also building up their military. It is all a waste of money as it doesn’t build your economy. Economies are built when the products that are manufactured in your country is consumed by its citizens. This is just enriching the defense contractors whose stock prices are skyrocketing, and the political elites. 

GOLD & SILVER

Gold all time high! Gold reached an all time high of 4794.85 an ounce in December of 2025. Silver all time high! The silver all-time high was US$93.77, which it set on January 14, 2026. This trend will continue. It is God’s currency.  Money is man-made. Gold and silver are the number one safe haven assets. Their rise also reflect the decline of the worldwide geopolitical and socioeconomic spectrum. People store it for times of uncertainty and wars. I was told by friends that they had to use gold as payment to board on ships to flee the Vietnam war. Many managed to sail to Malaysia as refugees but were relocated to Australia or the United States. I had a few Vietnamese friends in my medical year whose families had fled from Vietnam.

Trump will do anything to  keep propping up the U.S economy. When Trump attacked Iran he did it on a Saturday. When he did it to Venezuela he also did it on a Saturday when the equity markets are closed. He hates seeing the U.S markets go down.  Trump has been pushing the FED to keep lowering the interest rates but Powell is wary of the consequence of rising inflation. And when you keep lowering interest rates, the dollar weakens. The deeper the dollar falls the deeper the gold price increase. Gold is dollar-based. It will be cheaper for other countries to buy gold as their currency goes up. 

LAWLESSNESS

When Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24 that iniquity would abound, He said, “lawlessnesswould abound.” Paul emphasizes the lawlessness of the last days when he says that the Antichrist is called the “man of sin,” literally, the “man of lawlessness” (Thessalonians 2:3), and adds that the Antichrist will be produced by the “mystery of iniquity”—again, of “lawlessness”. The very thing we see today all the world, Jesus and His apostle said would be a sign of the end.

We are seeing increasing global lawlessness in our face. The rule of law is being attacked. Trump has said his morality is the law. Basically he says the gun is the law. He has threatened countries like Cuba, Mexico, Colombia and Greenland recently. Internally he has subverted justice in his own country. ICE agents murdered 37 year old mother  of three (3), Renee Nicole Good, in Minneapolis.  

When the government is lawless, it breeds a lawless generation of citizens. Students rebel against their teachers and against the government itself. Wives rebel against husbands, employees against employers. That’s why there are so many divorces and broken families in these end times.

 I would not be surprised that Trump will be impeached before 2026 ends. Or he may abdicate this year in a deal with the Democrats, not to be charged for all his crimes once his term is over. I really think Trump is losing control by the day.

And when Trump reigns end, I believe the black horse of the apocalypse will come (Revelations 6:5-6). This will be a time of global financial turmoil, hyperinflation  and famine. So keep your cash as you may be able to acquire assets for pennies on the dollar as we witnessed in 1997/1998 Asian Financial Crisis.  During that crisis I knew of people with over RM100 million assets could not raise RM200,000 cash. If we are liquid we can buy stocks and properties at much reduced prices. Time of crisis are also times of opportunity. 

HUMANITY TIMELINE

Buddha was around six (6) centuries before Christ. 563-483 BC. BC stands for before Christ.

Prophet Mohamed was six (6) centuries after Christ. 570-632 AD. AD means “after death”.  

Why is it not today not called the year 2626 (after death of Buddha) or 1426 (after death of Mohamed)?

The whole humanity timeline  is divided by an event.  Roman and Jewish historians have recorded the presence of Christ Jesus on this earth. He clearly walked on this earth. If you write a cheque today dated 18 January 2026, it means 18 days, 1 month and 2026 years ago Jesus was here. It is that simple. God made men simple. His complexities are often his own doing. 

Jesus  was here on earth and he said “I am the way, the truth and life. No one goes to the Father but through me”. There are only 2 options:

a.        It is the truth; or

b.      It is the biggest lie in history

This you have to decide. There is no in between. There is no such thing that he was here, just a good man who helped the poor and did many miracles. It is that simple. Either Mr.Chen is my biological father or he is not! There is no in between. 

I know the coming year can be rough but take heart that the Lord is with you. I listened to Su Shi’s famous words last night and felt calm 莫听穿林打叶声，一蓑烟雨任平生. Listen not to the rain beating the trees.  Be impervious. We keep our eyes on Jesus and not this deteriorating world and its woes.

We are now well into 2026 and with a blink of an eye, the U.S has captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Who is next? Maybe Cuba, Mexico or Greenland. God’s prophetic timeline has sped up and thus we need to be cognizant of how global affairs are unfolding. Likewise we too can lose our finances, material property, our soul or life if we are not vigilant. The black horse of the apocalypse is just a few years away. The western world is broke and hence resorting to military force to seize natural resources from other countries. Maduro had planned to sell Venezuelan oil on a basket of BRICS currency instead of the Petrodollar which would have nailed the U.S currency.

The Caribbean may seem distant from us, but we ourselves are not far from potential strife with racial politics rearing its ugly head, again & again, in Malaysia. I was only 4 months old when May13 racial riots flared up in KL and my panicky parents hid me in dad’s hometown in Hulu Langat. Our material wealth can vanish anytime so it is best to put our trust in God rather than material wealth. Naked we come, naked we go, for there are no pockets in a shroud (生不带来，死不带去).

PLANNING

I didn’t go anywhere during the holidays except spent quality in my study and my prayer closet. I had sat down and set my personal goals, my business goals and how I plan to finance them.  The word “plan” is mentioned 205 times in the Bible, so planning must be important. We do our best to listen and discern His voice as we plan, as biblical planning recognizes the role of God to empower the plans. "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps" (Proverbs 16:9).

Over the years God has  gradually stripped me the hindrances that kept me from moving forward (Hebrews 12:1). Yes it is time to streamline our focus and energy for the task ahead, getting rid of things that don’t serve us. Meanwhile we need a balanced perspective on matters concerning our lives, with a considered view of future goals.

One’s future goals is not about rigid control but about purposeful, prayerful, and diligent stewardship of one's gifts and time, surrendered to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the overarching purpose of God's kingdom. I am over many years learning to yield to His will, instead of stubbornly following my own desires, and to surrender my life completely to Him

BE CONFIDENT

Philippians 1:6 reads "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (NIV) – God's work in you is reliable. 

For those who trust God’s leading we are assured that He will not fail us. I look forward to the road ahead – my new FreshGrab retail shop which may be the first of many, the Regenerative Medicine business in Shanghai/GZ/Shenzhen, RW, Fussy eater project, etc.

"But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him" (NIV)  Jeremiah 17:7. Trusting God brings blessing and confidence. Amen!
