The Constitution

Our country has a constitution which we are to abide to.

The system of governance and regulations were from God. He gave it Moses at Mt.Sinai. The European nations adopted this system of governance and prospered. The Dutch brought the Constitution to Indonesia, the British brought it Malaysia, India, Pakistan and the States. Any other system will thus fail.

Hence it is important to uphold the Constitution.

But when those in government start perverting and changing the Constitution for their own ends, how can a country prosper?

Lost world

As I mixed around the social and business circle in Hong Kong, I see that there is so much that still needs to be done.

There still many souls that are without Christ. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, all the focus is on work and survival.

I attended an episcopal church yesterday as it was nearby the hotel. But I miss the Spirit-filled services we have back in Malaysia.

The west brought the Word to us in the east. Now it is time for us to bring the Spirit back to them.

In Hong Kong

I am now in Hong Kong for business and being part of this vibrant and dynamic market in this part of the world. I already have a few products selling here and the system to get products registered is so transparent and fair. Even if you wan to bribe, you cannot!

I pray that my beloved Malaysia one day will have the same kind of spirit for entrepreneurship and government initiatives. In Malaysia there are just too many red tapes. For the rich it is okay as they can bribe, but how about the new upstarts?

Tomorrow I willspeak for 10 mins in a function, and on Saturday and Sunday I am giving several talks on various health topics. So please pray for me.

The time for us to serve God fully is now, so I dedicate all these blessings to God and pray that I will hear from Him clearly and will walk His path.

I totally agree with this article written by J.Lee Grady

Kenneth Hagin’s Forgotten Warning

J. Lee Grady

Before he died in 2003, the revered father of the Word-Faith movement corrected his spiritual sons for going to extremes with their message of prosperity.

Charismatic Bible teacher Kenneth Hagin Sr. is considered the father of the so-called prosperity gospel. The folksy, self-trained “Dad Hagin” started a grass-roots movement in Oklahoma that produced a Bible college and a crop of famous preachers including Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle, Charles Capps, Jesse DuPlantis, Creflo Dollar and dozens of others—all of whom teach that Christians who give generously should expect financial rewards on this side of heaven.

Hagin taught that God was not glorified by poverty and that preachers do not have to be poor. But before he died in 2003 and left his Rhema Bible Training Center in the hands of his son, Kenneth Hagin Jr., he summoned many of his colleagues to Tulsa to rebuke them for distorting his message. He was not happy that some of his followers were manipulating the Bible to support what he viewed as greed and selfish indulgence.

Those who were close to Hagin Sr. say he was passionate about correcting these abuses before he died. In fact, he wrote a brutally honest book to address his concerns. The Midas Touch was published in 2000, a year after the infamous Tulsa meeting.

Many Word-Faith ministers ignored the book. But in light of the recent controversy over prosperity doctrines, it might be a good idea to dust it off and read it again.

Here are a few of the points Hagin made in The Midas Touch:

1. Financial prosperity is not a sign of God’s blessing. Hagin wrote: “If wealth alone were a sign of spirituality, then drug traffickers and crime bosses would be spiritual giants. Material wealth can be connected to the blessings of God or it can be totally disconnected from the blessings of God.”

2. People should never give in order to get. Hagin was critical of those who “try to make the offering plate some kind of heavenly vending machine.” He denounced those who link giving to getting, especially those who give cars to get new cars or who give suits to get new suits. He wrote: “There is no spiritual formula to sow a Ford and reap a Mercedes.”

3. It is not biblical to “name your seed” in an offering. Hagin was horrified by this practice, which was popularized in faith conferences during the 1980s. Faith preachers sometimes tell donors that when they give in an offering they should claim a specific benefit to get a blessing in return. Hagin rejected this idea and said that focusing on what you are going to receive “corrupts the very attitude of our giving nature.”

4. The “hundredfold return” is not a biblical concept. Hagin did the math and figured out that if this bizarre notion were true, “we would have Christians walking around with not billions or trillions of dollars, but quadrillions of dollars!” He rejected the popular teaching that a believer should claim a specific monetary payback rate.

5. Preachers who claim to have a “debt-breaking” anointing should not be trusted. Hagin was perplexed by ministers who promise “supernatural debt cancellation” to those who give in certain offerings. He wrote in The Midas Touch: “There is not one bit of Scripture I know about that validates such a practice. I’m afraid it is simply a scheme to raise money for the preacher, and ultimately it can turn out to be dangerous and destructive for all involved.”

(Many evangelists who appear on Christian television today use this bogus claim. Usually they insist that the miraculous debt cancellation will occur only if a person “gives right now,” as if the anointing for this miracle suddenly evaporates after the prime time viewing hour. This manipulative claim is more akin to witchcraft than Christian belief.)

Hagin condemned other harebrained gimmicks designed to trick audiences into emptying their wallets. He was especially incensed when a preacher told his radio listeners that he would take their prayer requests to Jesus’ empty tomb in Jerusalem and pray over them there—if donors included a special love gift. “What that radio preacher really wanted was more people to send in offerings,” Hagin wrote.

Thanks to the recent resurgence in bizarre donation schemes promoted by American Charismatics, the prosperity gospel is back under the nation’s microscope. It’s time to revisit Hagin’s concerns and find a biblical balance.

Hagin told his followers: “Overemphasizing or adding to what the Bible actually teaches invariably does more harm than good.” If the man who pioneered the modern concept of biblical prosperity blew the whistle on his own movement, wouldn’t it make sense for us to listen to his admonition?

God's deliverer

Who did God use to deliver the Israelites from Egypt?

Yes, it was Moses. Moses was raised as an Egyptian prince, ate at the same table as pharaoh, studied under his scholarship and had all the privileges as a royalty. But God send him to the wilderness for 40 years before using him to deliver His people from slavery.

Who did God use to preach the gospel to the gentiles?

Saul was a persecutor of Christians who murdered early church leaders. He was the pharisees of pharisees. He was educated under Gamaliel, the foremost Hebrew teacher at that time. He was the most dedicated pharisee of his generation and was ruthless in his persecution and execution of Christians. But God used him mightily.

Who did God use to end apartheid in South Africa?

Sure we are all familiar with Nelson Mandela who was jailed for over 20 years. But it was someone from within the white circle, F.W.D'Klerk who liberated the blacks from the injustices of apartheid. God always use someone from within the ranks.

Who did God use to dismantle communism in the Soviet Union?

Of course there are people who says Mikhael Gorbachev was conned by the Americans but its was God who used Mr.Gorbachev to dismantle communism in the Soviet Union. It is always someone from within as he best understands the system.

Anwar

He was pro-Malay and a learned Muslim. Many Chinese are still wary of him as he was seen as anti-Chinese during his days of power. He even transferred Malay headmaster to Chinese schools. Yes, an extreme right-wing then.

Then he had a fall-out with then Prime Minister Mahathir and was jailed on corruption and sodomy charges. He was later acquitted of the sodomy charges.

Since then he has voiced out the need for reforms in the Malaysian government, and said that his views has changed after all that has happened to him. He said he had spent time reflecting on his views and has changed them after 6 years in solitary confinement (in a recent al Jazeera interview).

Is God using Anwar to reform Malaysia? Will he be the one God is using to shape for a better and just Malaysia? It is always someone from within the inner circle.

Or could it be someone else?

The Move of God

God hears and responds to the cries of His children.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, " if my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal this land".

God says when those who are called by His name come to him and cry out, He will heal this land.
I thank God for the many prayer warriors across the nation who have interceded before and continually after the elections. God puts us Chinese and Indians in this country for a purpose. We are here to intercede and bless this land.

But first we need to forgive each other. The races need to forgive each other. Only with reconciliation can healing take place and I don't see Barisan Nasional reconciling the races and the past transgressions between the races. For instance, there need to be forgiveness and reconciliation on May 13, 1969. Malay leaders need to ask forgiveness and reconciliation, and not threaten us with another similar fiasco. We Chinese likewise need to forgive and embrace them. People like Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun who irked that there may be a repeat of May 13 should the opposition win big in the elections are TOTALLY not in sync with the move of God.

God will heal this land as we continue to intercede. This land is sick with corruption, cronyism and injustice. How can this land be productive and fruitful if it is so SICK?

Perak

I received many sms today praising God that Ngeh Ho Kam was appointed by Raja Nazrin as the Menteri Besar of Perak.

Such a sms is so unnecessary and dangerous. It can create disharmony amongst the races.

The PAS guy, Mohammad Nizar has the best credentials. He has degrees from countless places and speaks English better than most of us. He is an engineer of international quality and repute.

Just because Ngeh is a Christian does not mean he is ready to help build Perak and to wipe out corruption as he may not have the administrative skills yet. What we need is someone with the spirit of Joseph to make an impact.

Who cares who is there as long as he does a good job and is appointed by God as God is in control.

Brotherhood

We really still need to pray a lot more in delicate times like this.

I received so many sms saying that we should pray (urgently) for Ngeh Kho Ham (Christian) to be the Menteri Besar of Perak.

The sms said that Raja Nazrin accepted his as MB but PAS objected violently. Even the Star reported that PAS was not interested to rule Perak but just to be a partner. The sms saying PAS objected violently is so full of rubbish and why break down the good things that has been achieved by souring race relationships.

We still have not gone beyond race politics and as long as the person does the job right then we should support the person be it from PAS, PKR or DAP.

It matters not who becomes the MB as long as he is appointed of God and anointed by God as God is in control. God can anoint anyone, not just Christians to do the job.

We should pray for all the who becomes MB.

A Letter from Malaysia Today - Sabahan's True Colours

Sabah was a predominant Christian state previously.

Pray that the Sabah politicians and MPs will dare to stand up for the rights of our Christian brothers and sisters. West Malaysians have taken the courageous step and its time for the Sabahan to wake up and their leaders to stop being puppets.

----------------------

We will glorify corrupt act, support corrupt politicians to the very ends. If it requires, we shall assist them in their unlawful activity or simply closed one eye.

First of all, congratulations for those folks in Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Penang and Selangor for having the guts to changes. And, the utmost congratulations the folks in Sabah for showing their true color, which is, being dumb and dumber.

For being Sabahan, I’m disgusted, ashamed, frustrated, fooled, dismayed, shocked and whatever feeling ones felt if being let down. Well, this is only me saying and Sabahan has decided ‘we truly love BN!’ saying out loud.

For the next five years, we Sabahan should glorify and never ever complained wrong doing. Again, we Sabahan have decided, right?

We will glorify corrupt act, support corrupt politicians to the very ends. If it requires, we shall assist them in their unlawful activity or simply closed one eye.

We will go all out partying for having another or a couple more case of Donni John Duin, 11 years old, who committed suicide because his family was poor. A boy that age knows the shame of being poor, an adults like the most of us are too dumb to have that thoughts. Again, congratulations to Sabahan for supporting poverty elongation plan.

Hike of petrol price, don’t complain Sabahan, we have supported this plan and motive when we gave BN the land slide victory. Be happy to let your children walk on foot to school, as no money to run your motorbike. Tell the housewives it is all in the plan to have increase in essential goods.

Be proud to have illegal immigrants to invade your land, after all, BN owed their favor during this election. Please welcome them with open heart, show them our courtesy and show them where to build their new homes on our ancestral land.

Rest assure, the village road to your kampongs to be muddy as before, as giving BN the mandate the so called Sabah Development Corridor will go on, and guess what? No budget or allocations for your kampong road. Hooray!

Sabah Development Corridor planning; where the money coming from, there are many more ‘Corridors’ around Malaysia , any allocations for Sabah ? If there is any, rest assures my dear Sabahan, you’ll not going to benefit them at all. It is still falls to those cronies, poor Sabahan are not qualified as main cronies.

The Sabah Baru/Bodoh new pledges:

- We will support corruptions

- We will support the plans for hunger and proud being poor

- Illegal immigrant will be sheltered, educate and given proper employment

- We can live with inadequate basic necessities, rationed water supplies are ok, partial electricity supplies are ok, no lights on main road are ok, muddy kampong roads are ok, in short living like third world country is OK.

- Supporting in the rise of daily cost of living, such as, hike in petrol price indirectly raise the cost of living. With the recent ‘contribution’ by BN during campaigning will eventually offset these rises.

- We will support ethnic marginalization

- We will support ‘restricted’ religious so called freedom

- We will support unfair education system

- And most of all we will support LIES.

With this I rest my case.

Wildman of Borneo

Islamic Party of Malaysia (PAS)

What we want is god-fearing people in government, whether they are Muslims, Hindus, or Christians. We need righteous people who will make the right decisions that will benefit the citizens and instill policies for our country to prosper.

A god-fearing righteous person is not necessarily a Christian. We all have a conscience of what is good and what is evil, and what is right versus wrong. It is innate and inborn.

Some cited fear that if PAS is too strong and becomes the government we will not have discos, bars, brothels, casinos and night clubs. Personally I want to ask you all, do you really want your children to patronize all these places?

When I visit Kelantan , I am still able to drink my Tiger beer in Chinese eatery shops till 1-2 am. My Kelantan Muslim friends are sincerely pious and you don't see VCD peddlers selling porn CDs besides the mosque like we do in some other states.

God's will

I read an article in the Star newspaper today showing a BN Christian politician accepting defeat in the Kelana Jaya Parliamentary seat citing its God's will. He also was quoted in the paper saying that church leaders in Subang campaigned against him.

The previous parliamentarian from that seat also from BN was dropped as a candidate just because he stood up for Christian rights.

What we want are Member of Parliaments who will speak up for the truth, for justice and righteousness, not MPs who runs around making sure the drains are unclogged, but are no more effective than janitors in Parliament. In desperate times like this, they must have the attitude like Esther, "If I perish, I perish". We don't need BN MPs who dare not speak up for our rights, and only want safeguard their political careers.

Post Elections

There must be continual intercession for the nation. As Esther said "for such a time like this", we need to pray for peace, stability and that the respective party leaders will pick the right people for the right job.

"Righteousness exalts a nation" (Proverbs 14:34). How can a country be
fruitful and fertile if the government ignores corruption, civil liberties, rising crime and the many ills in Malaysia?

We as Christians need to continue to pray for God to heal this land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Our land is sick, filled with corruption, cover-ups , ridiculous toll rates, and racially discriminating policies. We pray that the PM will indeed do the right thing and set things right. God give him a chance in 2004 but he didn't address the many ills that plaque this nation. There is still time for him the do it right now and we must pray that God will impart him the wisdom and courage to make the right actions from now on.

Christians will remember - from Malaysia Kini

I refer to the Malaysiakini article Have Christians learned the costly lesson?
The Christians do not announce to the world how they will vote but believe me they will vote. And when they vote this time around they will remember the following.

They will remember Lina Joy and the many others who have to keep their religious beliefs a secret because the BN government has decided with the help of the courts (whose integrity we all know by now) to violate their very fundamental rights as enshrined in the constitution and that is the freedom of religion.

We will remember (and are constantly reminded) how difficult it is for us to worship when we do not get approvals for places of worship. We are not alone in this as similarly affected are the Hindus and Shia Muslims.

We will remember that in Selangor it is difficult for Christians to get land to build churches and those who have resorted to having their churches in shop houses and factories will now have to apply for a permit from the municipal authorities.

We will remember how a secular country like ours was declared an Islamic state without regard to the social contract which was ratified by way of a referendum in East Malaysia before the formation of Malaysia and we will remember how today the building of a statue has become an issue in Sabah (East Malaysia) where the majority of the ethnic population are Christians.

We will remember that besides the Indians, the Orang Asli, more son the non-Muslim Orang Asli is still languishing in the depths of poverty. What happened to their bumiputera rights?

We will also remember the hundreds of thousands of Malays who have been sidelined by the New Economic Policy and that nothing was really done to uplift their situation. On the other hand, Umnoputras fly off on overseas trips quite frequently.

We will remember that our children are being targeted in schools by some overzealous teachers in an attempt to convert them even in their minor years.

We will remember that Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had not come out even once - being the authority on Islam that he is - to tell the Muslim leaders what he thought about ‘corpse- snatching’, land for churches and temples and the destruction of places of worship.

In not so doing, he has told us in no uncertain terms that we do not matter.

And in the latest episode, we will also remember that we can’t use the term ‘Allah’ because it ‘confuses’ Muslims. This regardless of the fact that there are more Muslims in this country, more mosques and suraus and millions are spent on Islamic education. It doesn’t even matter if the term is used by non-Muslims.
