In 3 months

Ps.Charles Popson message at overnight prayer meeting (27/28 September 2007).

In 2 Samuel 6:1 we read that David was bringing the Ark of God back to Jerusalem. Later we read that Uzzah was struck dead for touching the ark. Uzzah literally means "strength". We read in verse 3 that they set the ark on a "new" cart pulled by "oxen".

You see friends, when we use our ways, our strength to do God's work the Lord is not pleased so the Lord has to put to death our strength or "Uzzah". Only when we seek God or serve God in His prescribed way will we be blessed. The prescribed way to carry the ark was on the shoulders of humans. Humans carry the presence of God, not vehicles or animals. We carry God's presence today as we have the presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

David was afraid of the Lord that day; and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?” (2 Samuel 6:9). He dared not receive the ark or the presence of God as David. So he set it aside
into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. Obed-Edom was a nobody, probably poor and David probably thought it was okay if he had died by harboring the ark (presence of God).

So the ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household (verse 11). Obed-Edom who was a nobody was blessed within 3 months because he received the presence of God. David rejected the ark of God because he was afraid to die. Friends, we have to receive the presence of God in the prescribed way by fellowshipping with Him to be blessed. Blessings include health, prosperity, honor, breakthroughs and friendships.

Pray that the Lord will do the same for us in the remaining 3 months of the year. Breakthrough has to come if fellowship with God and carry His presence in the prescribed way. Our shame will turn to fame, our story to glory, our mess into a message, our sorrow to joy and our poverty into prosperity. Expect it and the Lord will surely bless us and give us what we had prayed for beginning of this year. Oh Lord, there are only 90 days left!
